Caramel chocolate slice is also known as caramel shortbread or millionaires’ slice, it is a biscuit base with a layer of caramel and chocolate on top. Caramel slice has also become a popular dessert in Australia.
Caramel Chocolate Slice
500g Melted Butter
4 cups Plain flour
2 cups dessicated coconut
2 cups brown sugar
5 cans condensed milk
240ml golden syrup
600g chocolate buttons preferably callebaut
Add the melted butter, plain flour, coconut and brown sugar into a sauce pan and cook until brown, Place mixture onto a slice tray and cool
Add the condensed milk, golden syrup and butter into a sauce pan and cook until brown, place caramel mixture over the biscuit base – refrigerate to set
melt the cream, remove from the heat and slowly add in the chocolate, place on top of set caramel mixture
